Volocopter has completed optimizing its supply chain.

Bruchsal, Germany - 30 January 2026: Volocopter, the pioneer of urban air mobility, is accelerating its research, development, and production for the VoloCity and VoloXPro and is realigning its supply chain.

With Diamond’s expertise, Volocopter is accelerating its research, development, and production for the VoloCity and VoloXPro while simultaneously realigning its supply chain with the major scope of scalability, cost competitiveness, quality, and safety.

The modular concept, as well as the acceleration of research, development, and production processes, requires the optimization and partial realignment of the existing supply chain.

The search and auditing of new suppliers, as well as the contractual restructuring and improved developments with new and existing ones, are completed. Delivery of key components needed for research, development, and production is partially affected by longer lead times. During this phase, Volocopter is utilizing short-term work arrangements to remain flexible in responding to delivery schedules. The development and certification goals for the VoloXPro and the VoloCity remain unaffected.

The successful completion of the realignment phase has led to further improvements in our products. To effectively manage our teams during the delivery of parts and components, we will use the tool of short-term work as well as other flexible organizational instruments. However, this does not change our development and certification goals.

Volocopter continues to assume that the VoloXPro, which is intended to open the end-customer market in the Light Sports eVTOL segment, will receive its certification at the end of 2026. Volocopter also expects that the VoloCity, which is intended to open the market for urban, electrically powered passenger transport, will receive its EASA certification in 2027.

Furthermore, Volocopter will begin setting up a sandbox later this year in Bruchsal, Germany. A sandbox is an isolated test environment where realistic flight operations for the VoloCity and VoloXPro can be simulated. With the testing, production, and realization of this sandbox, the city of Bruchsal, the state of Baden-Württemberg, and Germany would become innovation and implementation leaders in the eVTOL industry.
