Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft - eVTOLs). We have pledged to bring urban air mobility to life by getting electric air taxis and other eVTOLs off the ground in a way that complements existing transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable, on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we carried out the first-ever piloted flight of a fully electric multicopter and have since conducted more than 1,500 public and private test flights across the world (www.volocopter.com). 

Your crew during this flight:

As (Senior) Procurement Manager - Indirect Procurement & CAPEX, you will be part of the Volocopter Procurement Team – working with highly experienced, dynamic, and motivated colleagues. In this function you will support two locations (Bruchsal and Munich) and report directly to the Team Lead Indirect Procurement in Bruchsal.
 

Your mission during this flight:

• You support, manage and consult the departments in the entire purchasing process for the responsible commodities, taking into account applicable purchasing processes and targets.

• You identify, develop and evaluate suppliers and harmonize the supplier pool.

• You independently prepare and conduct negotiations within a complex scope of work, involving relevant departments and legal if necessary.

• You prepare contracts, purchase orders and closings using existing purchasing systems.

• You are directly involved in the product development process by helping to shape cross-functional collaboration between e.g. development, accounting and suppliers.

• You ensure timely awards in compliance with strategic business objectives.

• You are regularly in touch with suppliers and internal stakeholders in order to keep an up-to-date overview.

• You optimize purchasing processes and implement needed systems.

Check in your professional skills:

• You have 5+ years experience in indirect procurement, ideally but not necessarily from the aviation or automotive industry.

• You have an academic background in the field of Business Administration or Industrial Engineering.

• You bring experience from commodities like engineering services, construction services, IT (hardware and software), office equipment or other indirect goods and services.

• You have shown strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work cross-functionally and effectively with the different stakeholders before.

• You have a good command in MS-Office and preferably MS Dynamics 365 Business Central - Navision ERP.

• You have an excellent command of spoken and written English, as well as German.

• You are willing to travel from time-to-time.
