Job Description

Your crew during this flight:

The main mission of a Battery Structural Repair Engineer is to make sure that the final product satisfies design, safety, contract, and authority requirements, by managing all non-conformities with proper engineering dispositions. You will provide technical expertise to ensure that the company's goals for battery design within production are met in terms of detailed part production, and assembly processes by eliminating non-conformities. By minimizing the number of scrap parts and making it possible to re-use them. This role contributes to cost reduction without compromising the airworthiness of batteries.

Your mission during this flight:

  • Work as a focal point between production, quality, design, stress, and other related groups in terms of product non-conformance management and repair development.
  • Evaluate and check all Non-Conformity Reports (NCR), and ensure data compliance
  • Provide on-site support to NCR-initiators about engineering requirements on Non-Conformity Reports.
  • Design repairs, provide technical solutions, interim and final engineering decisions for non-conformant parts using repair guidelines, previous occurrences, and experience.
  • Assess design data, higher assembly effect, load distribution, vibration, fatigue, corrosion requirements, production methods, thermal effects, EMI effects, battery testing methods, material and processes, weight and balance, future repairability, cost and customer requirements.
  • Prepare dispositions with step-by-step instructions for NCRs. Coordinate with all related groups such as Design, Stress, Weight & Balance, Material and Processes (M&P), Customer, etc. and Program Management when required.
  • Assure that repair activities meet and satisfy airworthiness requirements, quality specifications and customer needs in a cost-effective way.
  • Support root cause and corrective action activities from the Liaison / MRB Engineering point of view.
  • Prepare and train NCR initiators about Liaison / MRB Engineering requirements on Non-Conformity Reports.
  • Prepare and maintain a repair manual for the company that indicates general process and guidelines of repair implementation and standard repair methods.
  • Maintain positive team relationship with both internal and external suppliers, and support them in NCR dispositions when required.
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace/ Aeronautical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience as Liaison / MRB Engineer
  • Experience in non-conformity management, discrepancy evaluation, and investigation
  • Experience in repair design of metallic structures, composite structures and batteries on detailed part production level and assembly level
  • Experience in developing and writing step-by-step engineering repair disposition instructions
  • Familiarity with a variety of high-performance composite manufacturing processes, process limitations, and post-processing of advanced composite components
  • Knowledge on battery technologies, structural design guidelines, composite lay-up operations, fasteners, loads, failure modes, materials, NDI methods, and corrosion prevention
  • Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter and NX
  • Experience on developing structural repair manuals
  • Result-oriented with analytical creative thinking, and have high communication skills
