We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

We are looking for a Controlling Business Partner - R&D Projects to support us in building scalable Financial Planning & Analysis functions.

You will be creating, maintaining, and driving processes and tools to directly support our decision-making for our technology team while you will analyze drivers and trends of our business segments, reflect these in short- and long-term financial planning and provide our business owners the insights and guidance they need to successfully steer the company.

The position is highly diverse, working on multiple exciting and challenging projects worldwide, with many stakeholders inside and outside Volocopter and you will work on solutions and standards for the worldwide pioneer of urban air mobility, with the unique possibility to learn working with agile teams and drive forward our R&D controlling. Partly mobile work is possible.

  • Business partner to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) as well as all Research & Development projects and technical departments
  • Support our technical functions in all Finance-related topics and further develop our R&D Controlling
  • Working in projects with multiple agile teams and closely integrated into key strategic projects, together with the team of other Controlling Business Partners
  • Produce insightful reports with meaningful financial and non-financial KPIs to facilitate decision-making
  • Working strongly together with our Production, Supply Chain and Certification departments to establish unit costing
  • Contribute to continuously advancing our budgeting and forecasting in a volatile environment
  • Analyze the financial result to derive and implement measures at an early stage
  • You identify opportunities to improve results and standardize processes in our international growing R&D and finance organization, adopting a “digital-first” and “first principles” mindset
  • Contribute to our monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closure
  • Support our risk management, internal control & corporate finance departments
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Particularly strong background in R&D and project controlling is desirable; ideally in aviation or biotech industries
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment like a start-up or scale up desirable; ideally experience with managing controlling in the agile framework
  • Degree with a focus in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Knowledge of Excel, ERP and BI solutions, ideally Microsoft D365 Business Central and Power BI
  • Knowledge of agile framework and Jira is a plus
  • You equally feel comfortable explaining and present your analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the trade-offs with the development departments project management
  • Autonomy & pragmatism are two qualities that you embody, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, where needs and priorities evolve rapidly and decisions on all levels need to be made fast
  • Distinct willingness to learn and quickly familiarize yourself with new subject areas
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus
