We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring urban air mobility to life, by getting air taxis and drones off the gorund in a way that complements current transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electric multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale VoloCity aircrafts (www.volocopter.com).

Job Description

Your crew during this flight:

Your future Volocopter crew: In the Volocopter Team you will work under direct supervision of the Flight Control Software Engineer to develop a GUI based Aircraft config management and parameter tuning suite. You will also be responsible to develop an interface to the flight control system to extract and inject data. Your customers in R&D will use your tools to bring drones into the air safe and stable. Within a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary core team you will have significant impact on the development and prototyping of Volocopters next generation and its technologies. Working together with our Voloconnect Team (Volocopter’s next generation long-range transitioning aircraft), you are a key member of the development team located in central Munich. We develop cutting edge technology with the focus of implementation and testing. We are laser focused on making things work reliably and robust. We cut unnecessary complexity. Your mission during this flight:

Developing the toolset for centralizing the aircraft config management.

  • Get to know our system, toolchains, and workflows.
  • Develop an aircraft config management and flight control parameter tuning toolchain.
  • Integrate it into our continuous integration.
  • Coordination and exchange of data and information with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Assist test operation in lab environment and in the field to optimize the toolset. 

 

Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Good proficiency in the relevant programming/scripting Languages: C/C++, VB, Java, Python.
  • Experience in UI/UX development.
  • Able to work independently and self-driven.
  • Experience with make, GIT, Jenkins.
  • Onsite working. Hands-On attitude, passion for making/seeing stuff work/move/fly.
