We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring urban air mobility to life, by getting air taxis and drones off the gorund in a way that complements current transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electric multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale VoloCity aircrafts (www.volocopter.com).

Your mission during this flight:

In this role you will assist the development of the Volocopter Flight Control Laws using Matlab and Simulink. You will help us implementing new features and enhance our tools for automatic modelling checks and tests. You are a master student experienced in the use of Matlab and Simulink and are passionate about making a difference in eVTOL aviation world. You are knowledgeable about control theory, ideally in the aera of flight controls. Within a multi-disciplinary team, you will assist the flight control law development using model-based design.

Job tasks:

• You will: be part of the ongoing development of the Simulink models, assist adding new features.
• You will review Simulink models against our modelling standard.
• You will enhance automatic checks of Simulink models to ensure continuous compliance with modelling standard (Simulink model advisor).
• You will assist tracing of textual requirements to Simulink models.
• You will asisst setting up of test cases based on textual requirements and enhance automatic testing.

Check in your professional skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in (aeronautical) engineering or related field.
• Experience with Matlab and Simulink, ideally including the Simulink Model Advisor and Simulink Test toolboxes.
• Knowledge of control theory, ideally in the field of flight controls.
