We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopter (www.volocopter.com).

  • Design, implement, and maintain means for testing the correctness, performance, and safety of your software.
  • Work closely with domain experts, such as control law engineers, to ensure smooth integration of multiple software parts.
  • Support, question, and potentially improve the system design that the embedded software is part of.
  • Focus on always having a flying aircraft, quickly solving emerging problems in a pragmatic, robust manner.

  • Experience with digital communication bus standards (e.g., CAN, SPI, I²C, UART, …).
  • Structured way of working, attention to detail, high sense of responsibility, and accountability.
  •  In-person availability in or near Munich with the ability to support flight testing extensively.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with other programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Rust) is a plus.
  • Experience with software engineering best practices, such as continuous integration systems (e.g., Jenkins), and software testing methodologies.
  • Experience with distributed systems.
