We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring urban air mobility to life, by getting air taxis and drones off the gorund in a way that complements current transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

Our Electrical wiring interconnection system are key to making the aircraft fly. As System Engineer you will be in charge of all EWIS system level validation & verification tasks. For this purpose, you manage EWIS requirements verification and coherence through all levels of specifications and ensure proper processes implementation according to Design Handbook (DOH). 

  • You work in the EWIS Agile Scrum Team to create and manage a comprehensive requirement catalog at the system level
  • You are planning and assisting the development assurance activities (e.g. requirements validation, verification procedures development)
  • You are preparing and performing the system and component design reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR etc.)
  • You are assisting the generation of the compliance evidence for the certification
  • You provide assistance for formal audits and exchanges with EASA, as needed
  • You collaborate and liaise with the Validation & Verification (V&V) manager in technical planning and execution of verification activities in the system integration and test phase
  • You are a System-level expert for coordination and alignment with various internal departments as well as certification authorities
  • You coordinate and manage external suppliers 
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Bachelor/Master/PhD or equivalent degree in aviation, electrical, mechanical engineering or similar
  • Minimum 7 years of proven experience in aerospace development
  • Profound knowledge of the verification and validation aspects in aviation
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering, requirement management, and system architecture in aviation (ARP4754) or other complex product development
  • Detailed knowledge certification deliverables and practical expertise of ARP4754A, DO-254, DO-178 and DO-160
  • Proven track of requirements engineering with requirement management tools like Integrity or DOORS and experience with PLM tools required (Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, etc.)
  • Experience in working with suppliers for the "build to specification" development and COTS integration for aircraft systems
  • Highly skilled and effective in technical writing and communicating with others
  • Thorough analytical skills, a high sense of accountability and a structured approach
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus 

Preferred skills:

  • 10 years+ relevant experience
  • Experience in 2D/3D routing and installation is a plus
  • Experience in AGILE / SCRUM
  • Experience with working in EASA approved Design Organization (Part21J) is preferable
