We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We are bringing urban air mobility to life by introducing our air taxis and drones as an electric addition to current transportation options in megacities worldwide. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011, we performed the first-ever crewed flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopters (www.volocopter.com).

Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

As a Data Engineer, you are part of the Data team based in the Digital Office. In your role, you strongly support in building a data platform that allows Volocopter to build data products that support data-driven decisions across all our departments. You work hand in hand with Product Owners, Software Developers, Data Engineers & Analysts in the Microsoft Azure Data Tech Stack to achieve our vision.

You contribute towards architecture and guidelines around specific services for our data platform
You build data pipelines that integrate data from various sources ranging from our aircrafts to business applications and many more
You create analytical data sets and visualizations to accelerate data-driven decisions within the teams
You implement and provide prototypes, blueprints and templates for data pipelines and dashboards as a foundation for other product teams

Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

2+ years of hands-on experience working as a data engineer or similar role
Strong skills in Python & SQL
Strong skills building scalable ETL & ELT pipelines to integrate high volumes of unstructured, semi-structured and relational data
Experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark
Experience designing production-ready data architectures based on Azure / AWS / GCP services

Preferred skills:

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar studies
Profound knowledge of the Microsoft Azure Data Stack with hands-on experience for services like Storage Accounts (ADLS), Synapse, Data Explorer
Experience building data visualizations in Plotly / Dash, PowerBI or similar
