We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring urban air mobility to life, by getting air taxis and drones off the ground in a way that complements current transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electric multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale VoloCity aircrafts (www.volocopter.com).

Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

As Planning Intern (focus on production and factory planning) you will work at the center of our evolving and scaling operations division. Supporting the Operations Leadership Team, you will help manage the workload and drive Volocopter’s day-to-day effectiveness. You will prepare and participate in management meetings, support managerial processes, and work closely with various cross-functional teams to deliver key project milestones.

  • You play an integral role to develop a robust plan for the new part of the production location to enter the industrialization phase.
  • You support to develop an efficient and flexible production layout while collecting information and requirements from all stakeholders.
  • You contribute to design and develop efficient production and material flow processes through layout planning, equipment planning, IT systems plan, data analysis, etc.
  • You support with project management skills in maintaining a project plan and timeline and following up the tasks and milestones of all stakeholders.
  • You support our Project Leads in setting up required documentation.
  • You assist in coordinating the exchange and collaboration within the different Operations Teams.
  • You conduct research on industry best practices in operations and production environment.
  • You coordinate and prepare meetings with various internal and external parties and assist in follow-up activities.
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Availability for at least 5-6 months (full-time).
  • Student in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production or Logistic Engineering, Business Administration, or similar, ideally at the end of the Bachelor´s or Master’s degree.
  • First professional experience or certifications in production or facility planning, logistics, Supply Chain, Strategy, Project Management, or similar.
  • Ability to comprehend new process/systems quickly with high attention to details.
  • Communicative, self-driven team player with organizational and implementation power.
  • Showing initiative, taking clear ownership for projects, and having a solution-oriented way of working.
  • Skills in layout planning.
  • Excellent MS Office Skills.
  • Excellent English and German, both written and spoken.
  • Ability and willingness to work in an agile and fast-growing organization.

Preferred skills:

  • High level of flexibility and efficiency.
  • Experience with digital design tools (Teamcenter, AutoCad, CATIA).
  • Experience with any Descrete Event Simulation tools, Industrial engineering tools, data visualization tools.
  • Basic understanding of aviation from either field of development, production, maintenance, or operations.
