We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

As System Engineer - Flight Control Hardware within the Flight Control Team for VoloCity, you will be the expert for all airborne electronics hardware-related topics. You will write, maintain, and trace requirements on the system level and support the allocation to hardware and software. You will be responsible for safe hardware that matters for people all over the world, hardware that will literally take off in front of you.

  • You will define and review safety-critical electronic hardware lifecycle documentation
  • You will manage and maintain the Flight Control related requirement traceability from aircraft to item specifications
  • You will support the systems team in the detailed review of schematics and layout PCBs
  • You will be the hardware specialist, advising the systems team and equipment suppliers
  • You will assist in failure evaluation and calculations
  • You will create and review certification relevant documents and plans according to DO-254
  • You will be supporting the hardware CVE in developing compliance demonstration
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

Required skills

  • Degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering or similar 
  • Detailed knowledge and practical expertise of DO-254, DO-160 and ARP4754A
  • Good knowledge of certification deliverables according to DO-254
  • Good knowledge about requirements engineering with requirement management tools like Integrity or DOORS
  • Experience in digital and analog schematic design, PCB layout and design verification 
  • Experience in FPGA or PLD development
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in aerospace development 
  • Thorough statistical skills and a structured approach 
  • Very good language skills in English 

Preferred skills

  • Ideally experienced in VHDL
