We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring urban air mobility to life, by getting air taxis and drones off the gorund in a way that complements current transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electric multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale VoloCity aircrafts (www.volocopter.com).

Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

As an intern, you will be assisting the VoloDrone Team.

Your will design, implement and test a prototype of load release mechanism for our fleet of scale models.
You will be in charge of the mechanical and electrical design of the mechanism from defining the requirements up to its in-flight tests.

Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in robotics or mechatronics (or related discipline)
Mechatronic design and integration experience
Use of NX Siemens

Preferred skills:

Experience with MATLAC c-code generation
Experience with Jenkins
Experience or successful project completion with X-plane
Experience or successful project completion with ROS
3D printing experience with FDM
