We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring urban air mobility to life, by getting air taxis and drones off the gorund in a way that complements current transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electric multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale VoloCity aircrafts (www.volocopter.com).

Your mission during this flight:

We are looking for a Head of Finance Business Partner to support us in building a finance & controlling environment with scalable systems and processes. You will be responsible to guide and scale the business controlling team, consisting of 4 co-workers, and growing. You are responsible to enable smooth business controlling processes for the respective leaders across the organization and mentor the team. You will be working on multiple exciting and challenging projects worldwide, with many stakeholders inside and outside Volocopter. Partly mobile work is possible.

• You will be leading, mentoring and developing the business controlling team
• You will be the sparring partner for the future Head of Corporate Controlling 
• You will implement automated, scalable and analytical reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making across all levels of the organization
• You will take over the program controlling role for our program manager, first time implementing of controlling processes in a matrix organization
• You will be in charge of the execution of the budget & forecasting process for all functions, including regular performance reviews
• You will be responsible to ensure global system and process maturity, while continuously working on standardization and improvements, technical and procedural
• You will facilitate the scalability of processes and systems within our Finance IT landscape, which includes a global ERP as well as reporting, consolidation, and compliance tools
• You will contribute to our monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closure
• You will assist our group accounting, financial accounting & corporate finance departments

Check in your professional skills:

• Particularly strong background in R&D, project and supply chain controlling is desirable, ideally in aviation or biotech industries
• Experience in a fast-paced environment like a start-up or scale-up desirable; ideally experience with managing controlling in a matrix framework
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with top and extended leadership team; work cross-functionally effectively with tech, product, program, commercial, operations or management & support colleagues
• Experience with leading motivated and high-performing teams, comfortable with change and a passionate team player
• Experience with implementation of modern and digital FP&A department/services based on state-of-the-art technology
• You have a minimum IFRS accounting understanding to connect the Financial Statements (P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, Equity) and align internal & external reporting requirements
• Degree with a focus on finance, FP&A, or related fields; MBA, PhD, CFO or CPA are a plus
• Distinct willingness to learn and quickly familiarize yourself with new subject areas
• Fluent in English; a conversational level of German is a plus
