Head of Procurement (m/f/d)

Your mission during this flight:

As Head of Procurement you will be leading the growing procurement department at Volocopter with focus on strategic, direct as well as indirect procurement. In this role, you will work on main strategic questions and actively shape all procurement processes and standards for the operational procurement activities in Volocopter. You will be reporting directly to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and various cross-functional teams to achieve our mission and help bring urban air mobility to life.

• You will lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to establish procurement excellence.
• You will work closely together with the Chief Supply Chain Officer to progress the business forward within this and the next stage of growth.
• You will source new products from suppliers and lead negotiations, whilst developing and maintaining relationships with existing suppliers.
• You will carry out periodic cost reviews and deliver continuous cost improvements in accordance with the set targets.
• You will implement processes, methods, and tools for the new UAM product market, combining aerospace technology with automotive methodologies and approaches to topics such as industrialization.
• You will develop a dedicated procurement strategy for all goods and services to be procured by the Volocopter team.
• You will establish a tailored procurement watchtower to monitor supplier performance and financial health.
• You will initiate and lead group strategic make- or buy initiatives.
• You will implement management KPIs in line with requirements and promotion of cross-functional cooperation with interfaces within the Group.

Check in your professional skills:

• You have min. of 10 years professional experience in procurement in a global environment, preferably in the Aviation industry.
• Your way of working is characterized by a high strategic orientation, a high degree of initiative, drive and getting things done. 
• You bring with you strong negotiation and communication skills as well as excellent project management skills.
• You have a high level of assertiveness as well as a willingness to take responsibility and a high level of self-motivation to achieve your goals.
• Proven success in leading and motivating high-performing teams as well as in cross-functional work.
• Experience in maintaining, developing, and implementing procurement processes and strategies as well as contract management.
• Solid quality management experience, ideally in EN 9100 or Part 21G/J.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders in German and English, both written and verbal.
