Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft - eVTOLs). We have pledged to bring urban air mobility to life by getting electric air taxis and other eVTOLs off the ground in a way that complements existing transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable, on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we carried out the first-ever piloted flight of a fully electric multicopter and have since conducted more than 1,500 public and private test flights across the world (www.volocopter.com). 

Your mission during this flight:

You will work at one of the center points of our evolving and scaling operations division helping to drive Volocopter's future and day-to-day effectiveness. You will work closely with the entire operations leadership team to plan and prepare the production environment for all current and upcoming products.

• You plan and set-up production sites until handover to operations in strong cooperation with team manufacturing engineering and team infrastructure.
• You are responsible for transformation of manufacturing processes into functional production concepts and layouts.
• You take care of integration projects for new technologies or products in running production sites.
• You participate in defining and driving the long-term industrial strategy at Volocopter.
• You identify optimization potentials in existing production systems and derivation of improvement projects.
• You ensure operations projects are managed on time and on target and drive day to day decision-making within the operations division.
• You are responsible for organization of project management of ongoing projects and development of reporting and project tracking tools.
• You initiate and independently research complex information requests, gather, analyze and summarize data for projects and reports, prepare the materials and determine method of presentation.
• You coordinate and run meetings with various internal and external parties.

Check in your professional skills:

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Production & Logistics or similar.
• Relevant work experience in factory planning and production realization, consulting, strategy, project management or similar fields.
• Team player and excellent organizational and implementation power.
• Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Showing initiative, enjoying accountability, having a solution-oriented way of working and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent English and German, both written and spoken.

Preferred skills:

• Excellent analysis and evaluation skills with a drive to challenge the status quo.
• High level of flexibility and efficiency.
• Basic understanding of aviation from either field of production, maintenance or operation.
• Basic understanding of automotive industry from either field of factory or production planning, logistics or lean management.
