We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopter (www.volocopter.com).

Job Description

Your crew during this flight:

Within a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary team you develop and refine the state-of-the-art composite structure of the Volocopter that is key to its best-in-class performance.

Your mission during this flight:

You will be accountable for the development, definition, and tracing of requirements for our airframe and mechanical systems. You will ensure the proper development and verification of components and parts according to our specifications. You will be an integral part of our airframe development team.

Your Tasks:

  • Assist in the development of airframe 
  • Evaluate airframe design regarding weight, safety, costs, production and technical implementation
  • Define and document the airframe requirements
  • Coordinate the activities of component suppliers
  • Define test plans
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in the area of Aerospace Design or comparable subject
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar 
  • Proficiency in Part 21J and EASA DOA functions
  • Structural design experience in composite structures

Preferred:

  • Experience with EASA Certification Specifications 
  • Hands-on, creative and solution-oriented way of working
