We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring urban air mobility to life, by getting air taxis and drones off the gorund in a way that complements current transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. Your mission during this flight:

We are currently seeking a Technical Drafter for Composites Manufacturing. This position requires an experienced professional with comprehensive knowledge in designing and manufacturing parts as well as the creation of drawings and manufacturing models.

• You will gather design and manufacturing requirements for parts
• You will calculate dimensions, weight, and requirements in materials
• You will create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software in 2D and 3D
• You will create a manufacturing model (Trimlines, hole geometries, ply and core positions, thicknesses...)
• You will create technical and manufacturing drawings, Laser projection data for ply/core placement on the mould and files for cutting operations
• You will perform a drapability analysis of CFRP material to define ply shapes
• You will create diagrams, maps, and layouts to illustrate a workflow
• You will describe operations step-by-step (including equipment and software to be used)
• You will assist the manufacturing engineers in the creation of ply books (sketches, illustrations, etc…)

Check in your professional skills:

• Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Experience in manufacturing of fibre-reinforced plastics
• Familiarity with 3D modelling tools and especially Siemens NX in combination with Teamcenter PLM
• Knowledge of GD&T and Tolerancing (ISO and ASME Standard)
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Have some knowledge and hands-on experience with composite materials
• Fluent in English

Preferred skills:

• Experience introducing new processes into a production environment
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with SIEMENS Teamcenter
• German is a plus
