We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopter (www.volocopter.com).

Job Description

Job Location: Berlin OR Bruchsal

 

The Policy and Regulatory Affairs (PRA) Team at Volocopter acts as the focal point for all activities related to rulemaking, government affairs, and standardization. Being part of the PRA team, you will i) interact with government stakeholders to advocate for an enabling policy ecosystem for UAM and ii) gain firsthand experience into how regulations and standards are developed for the emerging UAM sector and ii) in close collaboration with our team, you will help in preparing company policy & regulatory strategies, assist in stakeholder mapping and engagement, and explore UAM relevant technical fields in order to ensure Volocopter’s entry into service.

Your tasks will include:

  • Provide research support on the governance and regulatory sides of mobility, sustainability, aerospace, and aviation.
  • Develop strategies on how the team’s lobbying efforts can support overall company goals and milestones.
  • Support the team with stakeholder mapping and engagement (meetings, evening receptions) with a focus on Germany and the European Union. Assist in the preparation of presentations, newsletters, documents and roadmaps that will be shared with the Volocopter team, management, authorities, and partners.
  • Assist in the coordination and monitoring of UAM/eVTOL rulemaking, and standardization activities. This would include coordinating the commenting of relevant regulations and standards proposals coming from European and worldwide aviation authorities.
  • Support the team with administrative tasks including event organization, internal communication, and meeting preparation and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate general topics of the Policy & Regulatory Affairs Team with other Volocopter teams.
Qualifications
  • You have at least a bachelor’s degree in aviation, political science, public policy, law or similar fields. Bachelor’s students who have at least completed 4 semesters are also welcome to apply.
  • You are available for a minimum of 4, ideally 6 months (full-time/part-time).
  • You have excellent MS Office Skills.
  • You are self-motivated, a communicative team player and have excellent organizational skills
  • You show initiative, enjoy accountability, and have a solution-oriented way of working
  • You are fluent in English and German.

Preferred skills:

  • You have first experiences in politics, rulemaking or aviation domain.
  • You have a good understanding of the working of the EU and its institutions, and the German political system.
  • You are familiar with and interested in relevant UAM/UAS technologies & disciplines such as e.g. sustainability, Connectivity, Autonomy, AI, Airspace integration, vertiports, aviation law.
