We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. Job Description

Your mission during this flight: 

As a our Prototype Aircraft Mechanic/Light Aircraft Manufacturer, you will be part of  of our highly motivated, multi-disciplinary prototyping team. Your mission is to work on our VoloCity prototype and share important feedback as part of our development team.

Your Tasks:

  • Repair of Volocopter prototypes
  • Integrate test-articles into the prototypes
  • Coordinate across our production and prototype teams
  • Work on the final assembly of individual components and prefabrication to complete the whole aircraft
  • Laminate parts and sub-assemblies
  • Maintain and monitor flying systems within the flight test and assistance in the test campaigns
Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a mechanic in the area of modification, remodification, troubleshooting, testing or comparable
  • Able to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Able to use a drawing to manufacture an assembly or carry out an installation independently
  • Able to select the correct tools to carry out production tasks
  • Experience working in a fast-changing project, e.g in the research and development phase

Preferred:

  • 2+ years experience in a prototyping environment
  • Involvement in setting up and standardizing new processes
  • Experience dealing with metallic structures (e.g wielding, machining) or with fiber composite structures (e.g manufacturing, repair)
  • Basic understanding of avionic systems (troubleshooting, fabrication of harnesses, initial production of wiring)
  • Experience working in a Production Organization (PO)
  • Completed training as a light aircraft builder, aircraft mechanic (EASA CAT-A or CAT-B License), or comparable
