We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

We are looking for an outstanding, empathic, and hands-on Computational Laboratory Test Engineer (m/f/d) You will be deeply involved in the selection of test bench hardware and support the development, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of the test infrastructure.

  • You will develop and maintain system vehicle laboratories according to requirements proposed by test engineers
  • You will propose and implement design solutions as means of compliance with laboratory user requirements
  • You will evaluate and select different hardware solutions for data acquisition and fault insertion to enhance test automation capabilities
  • You will define test bench specifications in conjunction with other members of the test infrastructure team, considering mechanical, electrical, and software aspects
  • You will interact with suppliers to ensure that their test solutions are optimized and comply with laboratory user requirements
  • You will maintain test benches updated during the vehicle system laboratories' lifecycle
  • You will assist test engineers with troubleshooting and with test issues and encourages the sharing of knowledge, experience, and training in and between teams
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • M.Sc. in Electrical, Mechatronics, Aeronautical Engineering, or similar degree
  • Knowledge of National Instruments test equipment (preferably PXI Platform and SLSC)
  • Experience with Labview and Veristand Custom Devices
  • Basic software development knowledge (Python and/or C)
  • Experience with Requirements Engineering
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Very good knowledge of the English language

Preferred skills:

  • Structured, independent, hands-on attitude and solution-oriented way of working
  • At least 3 years of working experience in testing aircraft or automotive systems
