Here at Volocopter, we are the pioneers of electric air taxis (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft - eVTOLs). We have pledged to bring urban air mobility to life by getting electric air taxis and other eVTOLs off the ground in a way that complements existing transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable, on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we carried out the first-ever piloted flight of a fully electric multicopter and have since conducted more than 1,500 public and private test flights across the world (www.volocopter.com). 

Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

As Logistics Planning Intern you will work at the center of our evolving and scaling supply chain division. Supporting the supply chain leadership team, you will help manage the workload and drive Volocopter’s day-to-day effectiveness. You will prepare and participate in management meetings, support managerial processes, and work closely with various cross-functional teams to deliver key project milestones.

  • You play an integral role to deliver a robust logistics plan for the existing and new manufacturing locations to achieve test certification and enter the industrialization phase.
  • You contribute to design and develop efficient material flow processes through layout planning, packaging designs, IT systems plan, data analysis, etc.
  • You develop and own PFEP (plan for every part) document based on the manufacturing bill of material, information collected from stakeholders and own analysis of logistics processes (inbound, receiving, storage space, material delivery route plan, tutbound, return logistics).
  • You develop the scope of work for floating RFQs and coordinate with equipment vendors on timely and safe installation of logistics equipment.
  • You support our project leads in setting up required documentation.
  • You assist in coordinating the exchange and collaboration within the different supply chain teams.
  • You conduct research on industry best practices in the logistics and supply chain and production environment.
  • You coordinate and prepare meetings with various internal and external parties and assist in follow-up activities.
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Availability for at least 5-6 months (full-time).
  • Student in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Production Engineering, Business Administration, or similar, ideally at the end of the Bachelor´s or Master’s degree.
  • First professional experience or certifications in logistics, supply chain, strategy, project management, or similar.
  • Ability to comprehend new process/systems quickly with high attention to details.
  • Communicative, self-driven team player with organizational and implementation power.
  • Showing initiative, taking clear ownership for projects, and having a solution-oriented way of working.
  • Excellent MS Office Skills.
  • Excellent English and German, both written and spoken.
  • Ability and willingness to work in an agile and fast-growing organization.

Preferred skills:

  • High level of flexibility and efficiency.
  • Experience with digital design tools (Teamcenter, AutiCad, CATIA).
  • Experience with any Descrete Event Simulation tools, Industrial engineering tools, data visualization tools.
  • Basic understanding of aviation from either field of development, production, maintenance, or operations.
