We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We are bringing urban air mobility to life by introducing our air taxis and drones as an electric addition to current transportation options in megacities worldwide. Your mission during this flight:

As Senior Procurement Manager (Direct Procurement), you will be part of the Procurement Team – working with highly experienced, dynamic, and motivated colleagues and reporting directly to the Head of Procurement.

This function is working closely with Aircraft Design and Manufacturing Teams, Project Management, and Quality Management. You will also be cross-collaborating with our Finance and Controlling Teams.

Your aviation industry background (or similar regulated environments) enables you to initiate and fulfil the right procurement strategies and to build up long-term supply relations, you will lead by example, act as a talent scout, and enjoy developing people and you are truly motivated and see this opening as a chance to rewrite aviation for real.

Process & Strategy

• Develop, execute, adjust, and improve procurement strategy for aircraft component and services
• Define, implement, and execute saving targets per commodity, component, service, supplier

Tender Management

• Collect, analyze, consolidate, and plan demand
• Source and benchmark product
• Initiate, execute, track, and assess RfQ process
• Negotiate commercial and contractual terms 

Purchasing of Standard Parts

• Identify suppliers within areas of responsibility 
• Ensure continuous availability/supply of parts by establishing mitigation strategies

Supplier Management

• Identify, source, evaluate, qualify, and award new suppliers in coordination with Quality Management
• Lead process of continuous improvement of supplier base

Quality Management

• Coordinate approval and monitoring of suppliers within aviation regulations
• Assure compliance of procurement for airworthiness relevant parts in liaise with Quality Management
   

Check-in your professional skills:

• Master’s degree in economics, business, and engineering or comparable study program
• Minimum 8 years experience in Procurement or Supplier Management
• Extensive experience in aviation-related procurement or procurement in similar strictly regulated environments
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally effectively with Design, Production, Quality Management and Finance colleagues
• Experience with leading motivated and high performing teams, implementing procurement strategies and processes, logistics, budgeting, and managing or restructuring teams as well as comfortable with change
• Excellent command in spoken and written English and one other language (preferred)
• Passionate team player and pioneering spirit, culturally competent

Preferred skills:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a leading position in the field of procurement or supply management with cross-functional responsibilities, product development competence
• Extensive experience in aviation or automotive industry, heavy regulated environments
• Scaling up experience
• Internationally versatile and competent
