We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopter (www.volocopter.com).

Your mission during this flight:

You will work in the Electric Propulsion Unit (EPU) team and will assist in the development of electrical drive models and optimization of drive design. 
You will gain experience and improve your knowledge of multi-physical system modeling and electrical drive design. Besides, you will prepare recommendations for the production of optimized drive designs based on reviews of state-of-the-art technologies.

• Implement drive behavior in functional block diagrams (including thermal domain and power supply)
• Optimize the electromagnetic design of drive with CAD and FEM tools
• Help to keep track of state-of-the-art development in drive technology

Check in your professional skills:

• Currently studying Electrical Engineering or an equivalent specialization with a focus on electrical drives
• Excellent knowledge in programming languages, such as Python or Matlab/Octave, C++ is a bonus
• Excellent knowledge in Simulink/Xcos, Stateflow is a bonus
• Communicative team player, organizational and implementation strength, customer orientation
• Accountable, initiative and solution-oriented way of working
• Excellent written and spoken English knowledge
• You are a citizen or permanent resident of the EU or your current VISA allows you to work in Germany
• You are available to start as soon as possible
