We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring urban air mobility to life, by getting air taxis and drones off the gorund in a way that complements current transportation options in megacities across the globe. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services that fly people to their destination quickly and safely. In 2011 we performed the first-ever piloted flight of a purely electric multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale VoloCity aircrafts (www.volocopter.com).

Your mission during this flight:

As the Working Student for Avionics Data Communication you will be part of the Avionics Team working on the VoloCity with a focus on data bus development and management of the data interfaces that run on a real urban air mobility solution.

• You develop and review of the documentation specific for ARINC 825 (CAN) data bus (database, Interface Control Document (ICDs)) of the aircraft systems
• You support databus development based on ARINC 825 (CAN) standard (e.g. workshops, consultancy of the teams and suppliers)
• You participate in development assurance activities (e.g. requirements validation, verification procedures development and approval, review of the ICDs)
• You support the Team on the requirement management activities 5 Work closely with specialists in a multidisciplinary team

Check in your professional skills:

• Basic Knowledge of the full stack of the OSI model of the communication protocols
• Basic knowledge about requirements engineering with requirement management tools like DOORS
• Basic knowledge about Product Lifecycle Management tools like DOORS
• Understanding of Agile approach
• Thorough analytical skills and a structured approach

Preferred skills:

• Basic Knowledge of CAN communication protocols
• Understanding of V&V development lifecycle (such as ARP4754A, ISO262626, etc.)
