We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We are bringing urban air mobility to life by introducing our air taxis and drones as an electric addition to current transportation options in megacities worldwide. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011, we performed the first-ever crewed flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopters (www.volocopter.com).
Your mission during this flight:
Working as a Policy and Regulatory Affairs Manager in the Policy & Regulatory Affairs Team, you will monitor and coordinate UAM and eVTOL/UAS regulatory and standardization activities, engage with different levels of government stakeholders and cover policy domains relevant for the company’s success.
In close collaboration with different Volocopter teams such as our operations team and engineering teams, you will shape company regulatory strategies, influence Volocopter’s mission on all political and aviation regulators levels and explore UAM relevant technical fields in order to ensure Volocopter’s products development.
- Develop relationships with and influence regulators and government bodies to support Volocopter’s reputation as an industry leader and ensure Volocopter’s product development and future worldwide distributed rollout
- Coordinate and steer UAM/eVTOL rulemaking and ongoing standardization activities
- Foster global harmonization of regulations to ensure future worldwide distributed rollout
- Develop respective regulatory roadmaps and milestones required for the launch of Volocopter UAM services globally
- Ensure internal coordination between Policy & Regulatory Affairs Team, APAC Team and other Volocopter teams
Check in your professional skills:
- At least 3 years of experience in regulatory affairs or public policy in a relevant and ideally novel industry, preferably within the aerospace industry in the EU
- You are fluent German and English
- You have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally effectively with tech, product, finance, marketing, and operations colleagues
- You are able to manage complex projects and concurrent work-streams across multiple business functions, many with tight deadlines and competing priorities
- You embody a safety-first approach
Preferred skills:
- You have experience in aviation / UAM rulemaking or standardization activities
- You are familiar with relevant UAM/UAS technologies & disciplines such as e.g., Connectivity, Autonomy, AI, Airspace integration, vertiports, aviation law
