Job Description

Your mission during this flight:

As Aircraft (Environmental) Qualification Engineer you will be involved in the certification process for environmental conditions of aircraft. You are responsible for the successful environmental qualification on aircraft, systems, and equipment; this includes the requirement validation and verification process. You will be part of the aircraft (environmental) qualification team and liaise closely with all system engineers, manufacturing, and quality.

Main tasks:

  • To conduct environmental design/qualification documentation reviews
  • To conduct environmental qualification tests witnessing
  • To conduct compliance verification of environmental qualification-related requirements
  • To define, justify, and negotiate qualification requirements with system engineers, suppliers
  • To anticipate potential environmental conditions-risks on aircraft, system, and equipment level
  • To initiate risk control measures, establish and implement mitigation plans
  • To follow-up the continuous airworthiness and promote technical innovations.
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in aviation (or related discipline)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an environment qualification engineer in the aerospace industry
  • Overall knowledge of the applicable environmental requirements to Type Certification of aircraft
  • Experience in the validation and verification of complex, high-reliability systems
  • Very good knowledge and use of RTCA DO-160 test methods and procedures
  • Experience in validation and verification of complex, high-reliability systems in aerospace
  • Knowledge of SAE-ARP-4754A
  • Good understanding of all technical aspects related to aircraft systems and aircraft flight physics
  • Experience in requirements management tools (such as DOORS or Integrity)
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Organizing ability as well as a high sense of responsibility and accountability, hands-on attitude
  • Proficient with quality management and processes
  • Good writing and speaking skills in English, excellent communication, negotiation skills
  • Available to travel, if/as required

Preferred skills:

  • Background in Safety and Dependability.
  • Experience in system architecture, CONOPs and/or modelling based systems engineering
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (SAFe)
  • Knowledge of SAE-ARP-4761A
  • Knowledge of the EASA regulatory environment and EASA practices
