We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We are bringing urban air mobility to life by introducing our air taxis and drones as an electric addition to current transportation options in megacities worldwide. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011, we performed the first-ever crewed flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopters (www.volocopter.com).

Your mission during this flight:

You will be a member of our Flight Test Team, providing technical and operational expertise in Avionics, for Ground and Flight tests of manned and unmanned configurations. Tests will usually be conducted locally, (Bruchsal/Lahr) but may involve campaigns at remote locations around the globe from time to time.

You will work closely with our engineering and rig testing teams to support our flight testing process and to ensure required readiness for test in time, on cost and quality. Volocopter has an established Flight Test Organization as part of our EASA Part21J Design Organization Approval (DOA).

• Coordination with Avionics design engineering group, selection of standard parts and technical drawing creation for design solutions
• Planning, monitoring, and optimizing Ground and Flight Test activities for electric aircraft development and certification purposes on your specialties (Avionics) for the overall functions of a complete aircraft
• Supporting aircraft preparation, inspection, and repair pre/post-test (in particular on Avionics systems)
• Assessment and documentation of tests including troubleshooting and development of standardized analysis and reporting tools
• Working on engineering projects, the solution of which requires technological advances and related development

Check in your professional skills:

• Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical education
• 3 to 5 years of experience as Specialist Engineer involved in aeronautical development and certification process
• Experience in planning, monitoring, and analyzing Avionics system testing
• Experience in designing (using CAD programs), analysis, and monitoring real-time critical parameters (using telemetry)
• Knowledge of the English language at a professional level

Preferred skills:

• Education or experience in rotorcraft flight testing
• Aircraft MRO experience
• Experience as an MRB/Liaison Engineer
