We at Volocopter are the pioneers of electric air taxis, i.e. aircraft that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). Job Description

Your crew during this flight:

You will play an integral role in supporting the development of Volocopter's rotor. You will use industry standard tools for rotorcraft analysis to model and analyze our design. You will be in contact with our experts responsible with loads, noise & vibration, aeroelasticity, aeroacoustics, flight testing, testing, Office of Airwothiness etc. 

Your mission during this flight:

  • Conduct the rotor aeromechanic design tasks (aerodynamic and aeroelastic design performance and acoustics)
  • Rotor load prediction, rotor stability assessment
  • Generation of analysis reports for system verification and for compliance demonstration (loads report, stability report, performance report etc)
  • Support aeromechanic rotor system tests by test request/plan creation, test witnessing, test report generation, instrumentation definition
  • Development of methods for rotor aeroelastic analysis
  • Structured documentation of the work
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • M.Sc. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a relevant discipline
  • 3+ years' experience performing rotorcraft analyses or a Ph.D. in a related field
  • Proven technical expertise in the field of helicopter rotor aeromechanics (aerodynamics, dynamics, loads, stability, performance)
  • Experience with rotor analysis and loads prediction tools (FlightLab, Camrad II, Dymore or similar)
  • Certification experience (CS27, CS29) in terms of generation of compliance documents (MoC2 and MoC4, MoC6)
  • Basic experience in rotary wing aeromechanic testing (wind tunnel, whirl tower, flight test)
  • Structured way of working, good communication skills (with internal stakeholders and suppliers)
  • Basic knowledge of programming/scripting
