We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We are bringing urban air mobility to life by introducing our air taxis and drones as an electric addition to current transportation options in megacities worldwide. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. In 2011, we performed the first-ever crewed flight of a purely electrical multicopter and have since showcased numerous public flights with our full-scale Volocopters (www.volocopter.com).

Your mission during this flight:

As a Solution Architect PLM, you are in constant exchange with internal software users as well as external software vendors and the digital team, in order to define upcoming features or additional independent software components to offer a full engineering capability for future aircraft development based on state of the art cloud technologies. Together with a team of IT Operations, DevOps, Enterprise Software and Cyber Security you ensure an optimal performance, reliability, and scalability while orchestrating tool requests, that are aligned with our internal IT program management. You are responsible for the overall definition and implementation of our engineering software landscape, based on Siemens Teamcenter, NX and other engineering components.

Your tasks:

• You are a subject matter expert within the PLM (Teamcenter) area

• You are driving our architecture within the product cluster

• You give technical input to the product roadmap 

• You ensure that technical solutions are supporting the roadmap for each product team

• You support all aspects of the development stages & validate full end-to-end product each release

• You understand software capabilities and keep up to date with industry practices

• You evaluate product progress and identify improvements 

Check in your professional skills:

• Completed studies in the field of engineering
• Proven track and several years of professional experience in comparable positions
• long-term experience in design and/or solution architecture
• Hands-on-experience and comprehensive knowledge regarding engineering processes, implementation and project management
• Versed skills in Siemens NX and Teamcenter regarding optimum system configuration including Multi-BOM Management, Change Management and other various parts of the Aircraft lifecycle
• Firsthand experience in design, architecture & development of integrating Teamcenter CAD, ERP and enterprise applications
• Reliability, ability to work in a team and high customer orientation paired with an independent way of working
• Excellent English and German, both written and spoken
