We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We are bringing urban air mobility to life by introducing our air taxis and drones as an electric addition to current transportation options in megacities worldwide. Job Description

The VoloDrone power distribution systems are key to making the aircraft fly. With your specific experience in electrical harness design, you contribute directly to the constant improvement of this important system. As an integral part of our vehicle design and integration team, you contribute to power distribution and interface with other systems, from harnessing routing concept creation to manufacturing support and implementation, through all development phases and design reviews.

Your mission during this flight:

  • Interface with suppliers for harness development 
  • Plan, initiate, and coordinate design reviews to verify proper implementation
  •  Promote integrated development with other teams
  • Support aircraft production and quality management
  • Create descriptive files for standard parts (cables, connectors, terminals,…)
  • Create routing concepts and innovative solutions
  • Create 3D harness routings, 2D pin board diagrams, and 2D integration drawings in NX
  • Create and maintain electrical standard parts catalog, BOM, and Wiring List
  • Initiate reviews of the schematic to verify proper implementation of the rules
  • Support other systems to define the equipment interfaces and harmonize the interfaces across the systems
  • Support prototyping team in the manufacturing and integration into the aircraft and create documentation for non-conformities
Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

  • Bachelor/Master or equivalent degree in aviation, electrical, mechanical engineering or similar
  • Good understanding of aerospace product development cycle and processes
  • Familiar with all aspects of electrical wiring design, including mechanical, electrical and thermal aspects
  • Good Knowledge of MIL and EN standard EWIS components
  • Strong expertise in 3D and 2D EWIS design (Siemens NX is a benefit)
  • Very good English language skills (written & spoken), very good German language skills are a benefit

Preferred skills:

  • Very Good knowledge of harness installation rules such as segregation, bend radius, maintainability, and accessibility
  • Structured way of working, high sense of responsibility and accountability with a hands-on attitude
  • Dynamic and flexible to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment
